Featured specialisation - Electronic tags or Personal Identification Devices (PID)
The monitoring of individual's movements are increasingly undertaken using electronic tagging devices. These comprise of straps with an attached electronic device worn around a leg and monitor their movement into or out of a designated address via a base unit that communicates to a monitoring centre usually managed by one of two service providers, namely G4S or Serco.In cases where an individual claims that the unit has accidentally broken-off or come away from their leg, it is usual for the item to be examined by an expert working on behalf of one of the aforementioned organisations. This report assesses the possibility that a strap has become detached deliberately, by accident or product malfunction.
Bericon is typically instructed to review the findings of the above type of report and to review whether the unit may have become dislodged or removed by another mechanism not previously disclosed or suggested to the original expert.
